Once in Canada, you will often hear the expression "Time is Money"! But there are pressing reasons to act now to be able to get to Canada in the first place. Immigration to Canada is need based. Today the country needs people. Tommorrow it may not. There was a time, for instance, doctors were in great demand now they are not. Your particular profession could go the same way. Also geo-political shifts and changes can adversely affect immigration laws. The time to act is now!
The entire immigration process can take anywhere from 6 to 24 months. The sooner you start the better. However, if the case if filed in United States of America (for those who are on H-1 Visa), then the time for the entire immigration process may vary anything between eight to ten months.
Immigration laws keep changing often making it tougher for some people to come into Canada.
It is pertinent to mention here that Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), has come out with proposed changes in the immigration statute in the form of Bill C-11. The Bill has already been passed in the House of Commons recently and now would go to the Senate for further debate. According to the story in Toronto Star, the Bill C-11 has proposed sweeping changes in the immigration Act.
So if you have been pontificating over immigrating to Canada, then act immediately.
